Dalisay Woman: Erin Perri

It is one thing to meet an incredible woman, and it’s another to call her a friend. Meeting Erin was what can only be described as kismet and she’s the type of woman you want in your circle. She’s the sales executive and showroom manager at Avenue Road, one of the most astounding contemporary furniture stores in North America. She spent June of this year travelling to Paris and Belgium visiting with some of the world’s renowned furniture designers. When she’s not traveling, you can find her at some of the many events and galas that Avenue Road puts together. She is a floral designer, baker and a ballerina in training at Canada’s National Ballet School. We caught up with Erin the day after yet another fabulous event as she welcomed us into her world. She is simply unstoppable and did we mention she’s 6 months pregnant?

Tell us about your career

As a design lover I have been in the design field for over 12 years. After completing my Interior Design degree, I had the pleasure of working in multiple furniture/fabric showrooms, boutique design firms, as well as experiencing different roles within the design magazine world.

Are you fulfilling a passion?

I am definitely fulfilling a passion for design.

If you weren’t a ………… what would you be doing?

If I weren’t in design I would be a marriage counsellor, as these roles tend to be quite similar.

How do you spend your free time?

I love to travel when possible. I also love floral design, which allows me another creative outlet.

How do you stay balanced?

I think it is very important to step away from your career or even your passion sometimes, in order to experience other things. This allows you to bring more to the table when you are working or creating. One of my favourite ways to recharge is by taking ballet. It’s always been a dream of mine to be a ballerina so I was thrilled when I got accepted to learn at Canada’s National Ballet School. You won’t be seeing me in any future shows but it’s a nice way to recharge the batteries.

What inspires you?

Nature, and it’s ever changing colours, architecture and fashion.

What fact about you, most surprises people?

That just because I am quiet doesn’t mean I am shy.

What is the best advice you’ve ever gotten?

I think the best advice is to always trust your instincts. Life can get pretty crazy, and at the end of the day sometimes its best to listen to your ‘gut’.

What is your definition of beautiful?

Beautiful is an intricate balance of kindness and confidence.

Who do you dress for?

Myself, I enjoy putting together outfits and trying new combinations.

Less or more?

Great costume jewellery

How does wearing Dalisay make you feel?

Luxurious and chic. I love the beautiful fabrics Dalisay uses, and their attention to detail.

Describe your perfect day

Waking up and going for a morning walk with my husband to get a warm tea or coffee. Checking out a new museum or exhibition, having dinner out with friends and enjoying a delicious meal . Plus I’m always up for a llittle manicure if there’s time!
